Design for the space you actually use

Start with the dining table, seating area, path, or outdoor kitchen you want to use after dark. A perimeter layout can frame a space; a zigzag or canopy can define a larger gathering area. The right arrangement depends on support points, sightlines, and how people move through the space.

Warm lighting can create a welcoming atmosphere without making every part of the yard equally bright. We review your preferred look and the nearby windows and property edges when planning the layout.

Support points matter as much as the bulbs

Posts, wall attachments, structural anchors, support cable, and span length affect the installation. Decorative string lights should not be treated as their own structural support system. Existing trees, fences, gutters, and railings are not automatically suitable anchors.

The proposal identifies what will support the lights and whether new posts or other work are needed. Attachment methods and any required permissions are confirmed before installation.

Permanent installation or a special occasion?

A permanent patio installation needs equipment suited to the location and a clear maintenance plan. A temporary event installation also needs a setup window, removal window, and agreement about who supplies the lights and supports.

Controls, dimming, outdoor power access, and cable routing are included in the planning conversation. Any required electrical work is identified separately and assigned to the appropriate provider.

If the project is for a wedding or other event, include the venue and date. Event lighting has different setup, coordination, and removal needs from a year-round patio project.
