1. Identify the spaces and the look
List the rooflines, entrance, patio, garden, or event areas you want lit. Choose an everyday warm-white look, seasonal color, or a combination. Note anything you want to keep dark, including nearby bedroom windows.
A clear daytime photo helps show the mounting surfaces and access. A dusk photo can help communicate existing light levels. Use photos you took or have permission to share.
2. Review power and supports
Note the location of existing outdoor power and any proposed posts, walls, or overhead supports. These are starting details for the installer to review; do not assume a fence, tree, or gutter is an approved anchor.
Required electrical or structural work must be identified and assigned to the appropriate provider. A decorative concept alone is not an installation plan.
3. Check approvals and access
Check current association, landlord, or venue requirements when they apply. Identify who can approve exterior changes and attachments.
Mention gates, pets, restricted access, difficult terrain, and other site conditions. Your installation provider will review safe access and the equipment needed before scheduling.
4. Define the dates
For holiday lighting, provide your preferred display period and any timing constraints. For permanent lighting, tell us whether the work needs to happen before another project.
For events, include the event date, venue, guest arrival time, setup access, and removal deadline. Confirm how weather changes will be handled in the written agreement.
5. Keep the written scope specific
Before booking, confirm the areas, equipment, ownership, controls, installation responsibilities, service terms, and removal where applicable. Keep the approved design with the quote.
Beltway Glow coordinates the proposal and the installation arrangements. Your written scope explains who performs the work and who handles support.
